Dr. Ladislav Kohout is a Professor of Computer Science at the Florida State University. He is the US Editor of "Journal of Intelligent Systems", an Associate editor of the journal "Information Sciences" a member of the Editorial Board of the "International Journal of General Systems" and of "American Journal of Applied Science". He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Intelligent Machinery. Professor Kohout has received numerous awards and honors including the “Distinguished Leadership in Science and Education Award” and the “Professional Excellency Program Award”. Professor Kohout is a member of a number of professional societies, a Chartered Engineer registered with the British Council of Engineering Institutions, a Fellow and Distinguished Professor of the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Systems Research and Cybernetics, a Fellow of the Cybernetics Society and a Member of the New York Academy of Sciences.

Research

Professor Kohout primarily works on Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Soft Computing, Knowledge Engineering, Multi-disciplinary application of AI and Computational Intelligence for his research. Other areas of interest include Medical Computing, Computational Biology, Relational Computer Architectures, and Computer Protection.
